1000 Courses in 10 Minutes: The Story Behind Minutelore And Their Ambition To Revolutionize EdTech
We sat down with Bohdan Hlushko, managing partner of AppFactory, to dive deeper into how fast learning became the cornerstone of their app, and how they managed to bring the concept to life without spending years in development.

In a world where some people are learning, some are scrolling through social media, and others are doing both at the same time, the question is: how do you manage it all?

The team at AppFactory figured out that learning could be done quickly — just like scrolling through TikTok. Their app, Minutelore, allows people to pick up new skills in just a few minutes — while waiting for the bus or brewing coffee.
Don’t Make Them Suffer: How a Huge Course Lead to A Small Project

“Honestly, I wasn’t planning on coming up with a new app while waiting for a flight,” Bohdan laughs. “I was just watching this guy in the airport lounge, bored out of his mind, scrolling through what seemed like a never-ending online course on his iPad. He looked like he was trying to cram the entire history of human knowledge into his brain in one sitting.” That moment sparked an idea in Bohdan’s mind: what if learning could be quick, easy, and not so excruciating? And that’s how the concept of Minutelore was born — a platform where you can become an expert in five minutes… or at least take the first step toward it.

“We’re all used to getting our information in bite-sized pieces,” Bohdan continues. “Who has time these days to sit down for hours to learn something new? Everyone’s schedules are packed. So, we thought: why not make learning as quick and accessible as checking your social media feed?” Thus, Minutelore became the answer — an app that offers courses where everything is short, to the point, and focused on delivering value in just a few minutes. No fluff, no long-winded explanations, just what you need to know.
Ready, Set, Overdrive

One of the biggest challenges the team faced was adapting to the modern-day pace of life. “Let’s be real — who has time to sit through a 40-hour course these days?” Bohdan grins. “We’ve all got so much going on. Adding a 40-hour course to that mix feels like climbing Everest in flip-flops. We needed something faster, something that fits into people’s busy lives.” That’s how Minutelore became an educational TikTok for the knowledge-hungry but time-poor.

Each course on the platform is broken down into short video lessons that you can finish while brewing your morning coffee or standing in line at the grocery store. “It’s a real game-changer for our users,” Bohdan explains. “You can learn something new in between your daily tasks — whether it’s brushing up on marketing strategies or exploring the basics of personal finance, all in the time it takes to sip a latte.”

But it wasn’t just about making learning fast. The real magic of Minutelore lies in how the content is delivered. “We’ve turned the learning experience into something that feels almost like a social media feed,” says Bohdan. “You swipe, watch, learn, and — boom! — you’re done. It’s quick, engaging, and doesn’t take up too much of your day.”

ADHD Dilemma And Other Target Audiences

On top of creating short courses, Minutelore tackled one of the biggest challenges in modern-day education - attention span, or rather, the lack of it. "One of the biggest things we had to address was how people's attention spans are getting shorter, especially for those with ADHD," Bohdan explains. "We live in a world that's full of distractions, so staying focused on a 60-minute lecture is nearly impossible for most people."

"We knew that people with ADHD just wouldn't make it through long, drawn-out courses," Bohdan says. "They need something short, dynamic, and, let's be honest, something as engaging as their social media feeds. So, we thought, why not make learning as fun and fast as swiping through TikTok, but with a bit more substance?"

This approach not only attracted users with ADHD but also appealed to anyone who struggles to stay focused for long periods. "It's not just people with ADHD who benefit," Bohdan adds. "We realized that everyone these days has trouble sitting still. There's just too much competing for your attention."

The Long Road to Short Content

"Making short courses seemed like the easy part," Bohdan says, shaking his head. "But as soon as we started, we realized it wasn't that simple. We had to completely rethink how educational content is structured." The AppFactory team found themselves revisiting the drawing board over and over again, reworking the platform to ensure the learning experience was smooth, efficient, and enjoyable.

"We redesigned everything - twice. We revamped the course structure three times," Bohdan admits. "At one point, it felt like we were spending more time designing the app than actually building the content!" But the goal was clear: Minutelore had to deliver not just short courses but a complete learning experience that fit seamlessly into the users' daily routines.

"It wasn't enough to just shorten the lessons. We had to make sure users could navigate the app quickly, find the content they wanted, and complete courses without feeling overwhelmed. It was a balancing act between simplicity and substance," Bohdan explains.
The Secret Sauce… AI, Of Course.

"We knew if we were going to create hundreds of short courses manually, we'd be at it for years," Bohdan laughs. That's when the AppFactory team decided to bring artificial intelligence into the mix. "We partnered with a company that specializes in AI-generated video content. You feed it a script, tweak a digital avatar, and boom! The video is ready."

AI didn't just speed up the process - it transformed it. "With AI, we're able to produce dozens of courses every week," Bohdan explains. "It's not just faster - it's more flexible. Now we can create and update content at lightning speed, adapting to whatever our users want to learn." As a result, Minutelore pumps out anywhere between 40 and 70 courses a week.

"We joke that soon we'll be producing content as fast as TikTok," Bohdan says with a grin. "But unlike TikTok, you walk away with new knowledge, not just a new dance move."
The Big (Bold) Mission: Learning for Everyone

At the start, the idea behind Minutelore was simply to make learning quicker and easier. But as the project grew, so did its mission. "We initially thought we were just creating a fun, fast way to learn. But it quickly became clear that Minutelore could be something much bigger," Bohdan says.

The platform is now used by a wide range of learners, from students and entrepreneurs to corporate employees and people simply looking to learn new life skills. "We wanted to build a platform where anyone could find something useful," Bohdan says. "Whether you're learning the basics of coding or exploring mindfulness techniques, Minutelore lets you do it in your own time, at your own pace."

The idea that learning could be accessible to everyone, regardless of their schedule or attention span, became the core philosophy behind Minutelore. "We realized that people want to learn, but the way education is traditionally structured just doesn't fit into their lives. We wanted to change that."
From Digital Notebooks to Learning on the Go

AppFactory's journey didn't start with educational content. "We were actually obsessed with productivity," Bohdan recalls. "Pavel and I started with an app for iPads that replaced paper notebooks. We both loved organizing our days and keeping everything in order." But as the company grew, so did their ambitions.

"We quickly realized we could do more. If we can help people organize their tasks, why not help them learn faster, too?" Bohdan says. That's how Minutelore became the next logical step in AppFactory's evolution. "We've always wanted to solve real problems for people," Bohdan explains. "And one of the biggest problems today is the lack of time for learning."
Staying Independent: Less Traveled, Less Bumpy Road

Unlike many startups, AppFactory decided not to seek outside investment. "We wanted to maintain control over our project," Bohdan explains. "It's harder, sure, but it gives us complete freedom." This approach allowed the company to grow at its own pace without the pressure of investors breathing down their necks.

"Of course, bringing in outside money would have been easier, but it would also mean we'd have to compromise on our vision," Bohdan says. "And we wanted Minutelore to develop the way we see it, not the way investors want it to."

What's Next in the Box?
Today, Minutelore offers more than 250 courses across 20 different categories, but the team at AppFactory has no intention of slowing down. "Our goal is to have 1,000 courses by the end of the year," Bohdan reveals. "The demand is huge, and we're ready to meet it."

But it's not just about the numbers. AppFactory is also planning to branch out into new areas of EdTech. "We want to continue developing fast, effective learning solutions. The world is changing, and education needs to change with it," Bohdan says. "We want learning to become as natural a part of daily life as checking your phone. All you need is a few minutes a day."

So, what's next? Bohdan grins: "We believe learning should be simple, fast, and fun. Minutelore is just the beginning. We're going to show the world that education can be exciting, without all this boring stuff like sitting with one course for 40 hours or thinking about completely different thing while reading through the textbook. We'll see if that works out for us!"
